why don't we simply go to a local Honda (or Yamaha/etc.) motorcycle dealer, and buy their branded oil for their 4-stroke motorcycle applications? The last I knew, a normal motorcycle engine was also circulating the same oil through the gearbox. They were in the same sump, not separated like ours. So the engine was trying to wear the oil out, while the gearbox was trying to crush it, and it was still good for 2-3,000 miles (or more with their synthetics). There must be some decent additives in it to provide the improved shear-strength the motorcycles need. Some of those engines are about as powerful as ours. I also know that they usually sell a transmission oil for the transmissions of the 2-stroke bikes, for use in the transmission. Not "gear-oil", but 10W-30, I think.
