Have you tried starter fluid to figure out if it's just a fuel problem. Yes! Coils do get weak. I can tell you that several years ago, my friends 88/9000s was found by me to have the weak/yellow spark condition and I just replaced the spark plugs with brand new ones. Started right up. Have you also consider the AMM being faulty. Pull the AMM harness and see if the car will start in limp mode.
