i had a contaminated clutch disc recently Posted by Saabu [Email] (#1133) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Saabu) on Sun, 13 Dec 2009 05:51:07 In Reply to: Re: 1st and reverse shfting issues, Ronc900t, Sat, 12 Dec 2009 16:56:05 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
due to rms leaking. the symptom of that is the clutch disc will not disconnect from the flywheel easily, the oil and dust and crud effectively glues the disc to the flywheel when the car is parked. even tho you press the clutch pedal down, the disc sticks or at least still rubs or contacts the flywheel, so the car will actually move forward when you turn the starter over and/or you might have difficulty putting it into gear because the whole mechanism is still turning. you will get a clunk going into reverse especially. its really the same symptom as a shot pilot/flywheel bearing. i dont think you mentioned if you changed that bearing during your clutch job?
