Help! Passenger window malady!

The passenger window on my '87 convertible has always been a little slow going up and down. The other day when putting it up, I glanced up to find it completely lop-sided about half way up (I suspect it came out of its track). As I pushed the button, I pulled it up so that it now appears normal but is still stuck about a third of the way down. I opened up the door to find the motor unresponsive. There is a clicking sound when I press the button though. What's my diagnosis if the motor is unresponsive AND the window happened to come out of its track?
Thanks,
Charlie
