I would listen to Twittiedancer and do a compression test given that its been sitting for 10 years. Why? I see people dealing with frozen piston rings all of the time in my years as an inboard boat owner in salt water from not being run. Everything happens 10 times quicker in a salt water environment.
Nevertheless, your 900 has been sitting for 10 years and has had more than enough time to have frozen/rusted piston rings. I'd do the compression test as twittiedancer described, and add some oil if you get any weak readings. If you do get poor compression readings and they improve with the addition of oil, pour some marvel mystery oil into the weak cylinder(s)and let it sit at least overnight or preferably for a couple of days, and then see what happens. Good luck and I hope you get it running right!!!
