Fuel pump going bad? (Or "where did all my zing go?") Posted by MattWiltse [Email] (#263) [Profile/Gallery]

Okay, so it goes like this. My c900 Turbo has been unable to climb more than 1/4 way into the yellow, for some time now. I figured my turbo was dying, and was thinking that expense was in my near future (other symptoms that might be related: lack of "oomph" on PART-throttle accelerations- especially when cold, sometimes bad enough that it seems to quietly "chuff" its way down my street in the morning, and out of my parking lot at night- acting real "fuel starved" or "air starved" or something, yet pulls itself up to speed under FULL throttle without any drama at all, albeit with not much boost to speak of).
Now, what really threw me for a loop was this morning. I had to go meet a client about a hundred miles away, and then got back to refuel at my local gas station (cheapest fuel in the region!). I was low enough on fuel by that time the "Low Fuel" light came on (I ALWAYS refuel near or way above 1/2 tank, so I had never seen this before), my turbo was spooling RIGHT UP TO THE EDGE OF THE RED ZONE!! I was just having a lot of fun zipping around, enjoying the zing-zing of the turbo, the quick response that it has, and hoped that it was here to stay! Alas, it was NOT TO BE.
I fueled the car up, and once again... turbo barely climbs into the yellow! What is UP?!?!?
