DIY gearcase drain hole and 9K brakes

Hi, folks.
At last... no.
Halleluiah! Thanks to mr. CMyles I'm getting a new final drive and going to go inside my tranny once again. Besides replacing the worn final drive I'd like to also add the oil drain that they removed on the late gearbox design.
What's the best place on the gearcase to have this hole drilled? I'm thinking about the stock blind hole that stands next to the stock gearbox drain plug on the earlier design, pls refer to the shot below (snatched from Jon's nysocphotos.com site; Thanks, Jon). But I'm not sure if this part of the gearcase is under heavy stress or not and whether it'll be weaken too much if I go with thru-hole there...
Any thoughts? Advises? Experience? (just in case: yes, yes, one can definitely do the oil change either with a suction pump or removing the rear cover - but an oil plug looks to be more accurate and nice design)
Secondly, it's time to do the rotors. Or disks whatever sounds better.
- what's the difference in the performance between late C900 brakes and 9K calipers? Is it say like between 2.0 n/a and 2.1 n/a engines or more like 2.1 vs 2.0 turbo? in other words - is it worth it?
- what's that big deal with the fluid line arms? I've studied all the 900 aero and twinsaabs sites but still unclear. If anyone (Jon?) will gimme a clear shot on what should be done there for the proper fluid line install - it'll be pretty helpful and very appreciated.
