The clutch shaft seal is indeed in the primary case, facing the flywheel.
As for the minimum, you could just get a new clutch disc and put everything else back together. As long as the hydraulics were working when you took it all apart. Minimal expense. And the good news, you'll be 10x faster taking it apart next time...
Are you planning on keeping this car forever? If not and you have the time to kill doing the clutch removal again in a year or so when something else fails (and/or you're broke :), just get a new clutch disc and reassemble. If I wanted to keep the car for a long while, I'd get a new clutch disc, pressure plate, slave, pilot bearing, and think about replacing the seals, but leave them alone if they show no signs of leaking. You can theoretically rebuild the slave, but I wouldn't bother...
