Thanks for commenting on the idle / turbo seal smoke. I can understanding what your saying. Low idling speed and no real pressure coming from the exhaust until the pressure builds enough to push pressure against the slightly leaking seals. Engine oil pressure greater than exhaust pressure at idle. I had a Volvo with a clogged return line and it smoked real bad. I thought I needed to rebuild the turbo until I remove the return pipe and cleared it out. Makes sense.
