Help with seat heater wiring differences, please?(long) Posted by vsfoxe [Email] (#1025) [Profile/Gallery] (more from vsfoxe) on Thu, 18 Mar 2010 18:43:40 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have 2 ’90 Turbo’s. An SPG and a Convertible. Both have “L” at 10th digit of VIN, and are real 90’s by the tags on the left fenderwell. The Convertible heated seats don’t work, and I’m baffled by the wires I see under the seats. Bentley has ONE schematic for 1987-1990, so I think they should be wired the same? But no!
Under drivers seat, the CV has an additional wire bundle which seems to go to a spring-switch. The 2nd wire bundle has a 2-prong connector, with 2 gray wires to one prong, and 2 black wires to the other. It is connected to a spring switch by the door sill side of the seat.
Under the passengers seat, the CV has no additional wire bundle BUT does have an additional spring-switch - not hooked to anything. Pass. Seat has 2 spring switches.
Can someone perhaps tell me why my 2 ’90 turbos are not the same under the seats? Bentley has no schematic like the convertible wiring. I’ve also looked at Safety Belt Warning wiring, but find no gray wires. Are they involved with the heated seats, or some other thing?
