I've found that some 1/2" open end wrenches with slim jaws will fit very tightly and allow you to get a little more torque without slipping and rounding. Some 1/2" open ends are a little too tight. I keep a certain 1/2" open end in my bag for u pull it runs so I can get that almost new clutch hose. It's never failed to get them loose. The wrench will need to be angled out somewhat. It's a little tricky to angle the wrench while pulling on it.
