How is the leather shift boot help down?

Hi everyone,
I was driving along and downshifted to 4th, and the corner of the shift boot closest to 5th popped up. The leather hasn't torn, and I can see/feel that it is still stretched over some sort of frame at the bottom, but it won't stay down if i push it. I've tried to feel how the corner by 1st is held down, but to be honest my hands are too big to get in there, so I can't really tell.
Car is a 94 900s convertible.
Thanks!
