I forget how the pump is set up on your year and model but it sounds like you have a line messed up someplace on the fuel pump. Just a guess. I know i had one on a newer 9000 that pulled the little ball from the valve into the bottom of the inlet deal on top and it would run for awhile and then stop. I used tweezers to pull the little rubber ball out of the hole and it ran OK until I could order a new valve. The little ball is some sort of back flow prevent. Again I'm just guessing. Sorry not more help. You could also have a bad fuel filter. You'll want to replace that anyway after the pump replacement since some of the junk in the old pump and line work can clog it up. You should be able to get one locally, maybe.
