'94 TC door lock issues - console yes, key doesn't

Hey everyone,
I'm trying to determine the issues with my central locking.
Currently, the doors do not centrally lock from the driver's door, however they do lock via the switch in the central console.
My mechanic initially thought it was the Saab guard alarm system, so I bought a super cheap used one, and a new chip/remote set from keylessride.com, and swapped one for the other. Still no dice. Both Saab alarm units seem ok. I also noticed the relay for the interior light wasn't in place, so I put it back in its slot and I now have timed delay interior lights. (easy fix...I like those!).
My guess is that the door lock actuator in the door is bad? Any other places to start looking? Clearly the system works since the console switch works fine. Now to only get the key and remote keyless entry working.
Thanks!
Paul H.
