If you're already into pulling the head (and a new gasket set...), why not just have a machine shop drill out the old stud, and replace it with a Heli-Coil? Shouldn't cost more than $25-$50 at the dealer. Most JY heads will cost more than that fix. Or, a Heli-Coil kit runs between $35 and $50 with the new drill, tap & usually 8-10 coils.
Unless the old hole is beyond repair, that is.
For those who don't know, a Heli-Coil is a stainless steel thread repair. The bolt/stud hole is drilled out and threaded to a larger size (about 2mm larger), then a stainless coil is threaded into the new threads, and a standard bolt or stud is used. Buy them at most good auto parts stores.
As for head compatibility, You can use almost any 2.0 liter 16v head. Note that the cams may be different between models, but the head casting is the same. You shouldn't use a 2.3 liter head (has the bigger valves of the 2.1 - same casting - but without the 2.1 inlet manifold, you're not gaining a lot), nor a 1994- head, as there are mods to the casting that you'd need to correct.
