Hello,

For a bit of background info, I have an '88 T16 5 speed, 3 door, where the only modifications are a 2.5" exhaust and modified SPG apc as per this guide
http://saabworks.com/projects/overboost.html
On cheap 87 octane gas, this would regularly boost 1/4 (sometimes 1/2) way into the red zone... premium would take it all the way to fuel cutoff.

The problem- the boost now only goes to the yellow-red border.

Here's possibly why-
Last week, my hall effect sensor started acting up... you know, classic bucking and tach jumping around. Turned out that the hall sensor connector was broken and hanging by the wires.

With a marker, I marked the exact orientation of the distributor, to the head, and removed it. Long story short, I disassembled it and soldered fresh, heavier wires, replacing the old... then reassembled, reinstalled. I also made sure to line up the permanent marker dashes I made earlier.

At that point, the car starts and runs fine. I've driven it all day with no hiccups... except that I don't have as much turbo boost as before.

What could I have missed? I'm only assuming that this repair affected the boost. (I wish I could honestly say that I knew it boosted properly right prior, I don't have my foot in the turbo very often... this is just the only thing I've messed with lately.)

I had the thought that I didn't seat the hall sensor notch correctly into the vacuum diaphragm arm's hole... so I pulled the hose running to it with the engine idling and sucked on it, rpms slightly rose. Blowing on it did nothing.

Lastly, I went through looking for general vacuum leaks, but everything seems fine. Idle is at about 850...

Any ideas? Sorry for such a long post, thanks in advance!
-Ian
