Thanks to Daryle in Charlotte for the source of Hall sensor kit - saabsite.com.
Current status: Mechanic is still not getting power to pump and LH relays, but trying a temporary secondary ground powered them up. So, thinks there is a ground interuption in the wire bundle somewhere en route to those relays. Can anyone think of a problem with installing a permanent secondary ground? What is the routing of the bundle supplying the two relays for a failed wire search? Do you think a failed Hall sensor or sensor pigtail could create this situation? No longer starts at all.
What amazes me is that this car has performed so well for so long before any problems. That leads me to think of a single component failure . But which one is it? I got the car at 96,000 miles and have never had a problem with the legendary bad '89 ECU. Maybe the ECU was replaced before i got it? We will solve this, but I welcome all suggestions you can think of.
