Brown Sludge in Coolant Reservoir Posted by Don [Email] (#1099) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Don) on Sat, 29 May 2010 13:39:51 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I am looking to save a '89 SPG that a Saaber is looking to part with. The car has a number of small issues that I am not concerned about dealing with myself, e.g. fluid flush, brakes, hoses, belts, detailing, some minor paint and lower fascia work all of which I can do myself. No rust! Issue coolant reservoir did not have any visible coolant however there was brown residue present. The car did not run hot and after running awhile and when the coolant cap was unscrewed there was some pressure when the cap was removed. I think this is a blown head gasket although the oil dipstick had no indication of a mix. I am looking for confirmation input from some of the SME out there. Thanks.
