Our 89 Mercedes 300te has an electric fan in the front to push air (giant old fashioned, belt driven fan with clutch behind the radiator).

The Saab fan would pull air through the radiator and condensor when the car is not moving. I've got an FMIC and AC condensor in front of my radiator on my 900T and them temp stays in the normal range even on the hottest days, although the cooling efficiency of the AC seems a bit reduced.

That doesn't matter to me much since it is a vert. To me the AC mainly exists to help the defroster clear the windshield during the winter or on rainy humid days.
