Since I know everyone is anxiously awaiting news from EverettWA on Dave's '89 SPG no start problem, here goes.

Both my indy shop ( originally devoted to Nissan Zs) and I learned a bunch on this journey to find this non start problem. ( background: 170k on the car, ran perfectly since 2002) Replaced fuel pump, fuel pump and system relays, ignition control module, and still had a status where the car generated spark for 25 seconds and died. Final stop was of course distributor, and that cured the problems. It seems the Hall sensor they got was incompatible with my early '89 Turbo dist, so a used one from Scanwest did the trick. The tech owns a 92 900 N/A and claims that my '89 SPG has ECU and dist wiring that did not look like Bentley at all, figured it was a midyear change of some kind, is that possible? Anyhoo, black SPG called "Snert" is back on the road terrorizing Mustangs and Camaros.
