ahh man,.. that's a gr8 job for the owner to do Posted by vvack0matic [Email] (#1443) [Profile/Gallery] (more from vvack0matic) on Sat, 5 Jun 2010 19:04:37 In Reply to: Is it commonplace to be charged double for parts?, JamesB., Sat, 5 Jun 2010 17:17:27 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
grab a beer some tools and dig in, that's whats so great about the c-900, one can just start ripping into the car and have it totally in peace and with the 2ed beer have everything back together again.
the c-900 is a very friendly do it yourself-er car. not to mention every time the driver hits the brake pedal a since of pride grows over the drivers face.
but of course time and room to work on the car dose become a burden even though a d.i.yer would love to swap out brakes, slave, or what ever the car needs one cant when time and location becomes a problem. in these cases we all have a trusted Indy to work on the car.
we being part of the Saab community have located rock bottom prices to fix our Saab's with, like eeuroparts, state of nine, and so forth.
its easy for us to run to these sites and get the part we need at prices nobody can beat. because if there was a better price out there, us saabers would shop there.
our trusted Indus we go to to work on our cars do not have the prices we can find. heck it took me 10 years talking to my Indy to have him swing by eeuroparts and check them out.
his biggest thing is time also. eeuroparts will ship the part and have it at a location in about 2days, while the Saab Indy's contacts can have the part needed at the saab shop within 3hrs.
prices will be a bit inflated but clearly understandable.
my Indy as all Indy's have no problem installing a part you bring, if you wanted to get rock bottom prices with the indys work, shop eeurparts gather the parts you needed and bring them along to the shop.
might want to clear this with the saab shop before hand, and add you would love to do the work but as always time and money are an issue.
the indy you went to probably would like to hear where to find better prices, in any-case they may be dedicated to buy from a certain supplier
and their hands are tied in the matter.
just know a 20 or 50 dollar tip on top of the shops labor cost goes a long way.
heck if a Saab shop installed 4 rotors and new pads in a hour and 10 min. on my car,.. their looking at a 60 dollar tip heck i might even drop 300 and say keep the change. that's a awesome time.
