Depends on the electric door lock switch & key position Posted by BAAB [Email] (#1214) [Profile/Gallery] (more from BAAB) on Fri, 25 Jun 2010 22:14:14 In Reply to: Trunk latch 94 900 TC, WaSaabi [Profile/Gallery] , Fri, 25 Jun 2010 17:59:31 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
If the doors are locked using the switch in between the front seats, then you'll have to use the key to open the trunk. If the door lock switch between the front seats has been pressed to the unlock position, and the door locks were electronically UNLOCKED previously, and if the key is in the correct position (for us, that is when the key slot is horizontal), you should then be able to open the trunk with the trunk lid lever, and without the key. At least that is the way it works on my wife's '94 c900 TC. When I drive the TC, I keep the trunk key slot in the horizontal position, and then use the door lock switch between the seats to lock and unlock everything. Kinda quirky huh? There might be a reason for this behavior but I don't know what it would be :-)
