best way to test used brake booster pre installation ?

my 88 spg needs a new brake booster . I've made certain the problem is inside the booster with various tests . I just took a booster out of a junked 89 that only had 100k on the odometer . I know these things supposedly don't fail that often and a 100k is pretty low mileage , but I put one in last year that worked fine and has now developed a leak . before I go to the trouble of putting another one in I wanted to know if anyone has a good test(s) for it . I've already taken the vacuum line off my installed booster and hooked it up to the one I just got . it does not appear to leak with the engine running and my vacuum at idle went back up to about 19 hg with the replacement hooked up . after shutting off the engine and then disconnecting the vacuum line from the replacement booster vacuum pressure could be heard escaping . does anyone have any other tests that would make things more conclusive ? thanks in advance .
