I agree with slyde - test the pump independently and make sure it is working. The feeder pump must also be functional if the tank is less than 1/4 full or so but if you can get the tank topped up it may not be the issue.
Check and make sure there is fuel delivery at an injector - run the pump at the relay box by jumpering (ask if you need precise instructions) Remove one pair of injectors and check for flow.
Am willing to bet that fuel delivery is not an issue. It could be a faulty or blocked accumulator - which can be bypassed if necessary.
Check you have spark too - remove a plug and see what you get.
With 86 and 87 there is a pulse amplifier relay that you may need to bypass.
Once you have posted your results on where you are getting fuel at an injector, your pump is running and you have spark - we can the do a step by step diagnosis.
