I've always try to replace all car that I have owned with "Sachs" brand. They will hold very well under torgue and do seem a bit heavier on the pedal. Best lube for spline that I've found is "Honda Molly Paste". Picked it up at a motor cycle shop for my 71/BMW motor cycle. It's shaft drive rear has splines inside the rear wheel hub that needs very slight amount of grease that has the risk of contaminating the drum brake pads if the grease is flung loose. This grease is more of a paste and stays put extremely well.
