On my '88 900T that stupid thing runs (barely) under all the other tangle under the intake manifold _and_ integrates a coolant hardline all the way to my turbo intake pipe, which needs to get out of the way for clutch cover removal.
I remember fearfully pulling on it years ago with motor out of the car and thinking it wouldn't just pop out of the turbo pipe without damage,
BUT that looks like a rubber grommetty thing holding it in... which *should* let it out with sufficient force, yes? I REALLY don't want to drain the coolant and fight the whole CCV nightmare out from under the intake manifold...
So how do you guys detach/remove your turbo intake to get to the clutch cover and goodies beneath?
