pedal is released on my 88 spg. I only notice it occasionally when backing into my parking space at night . it could be happening at other times that I don't notice because I'm not looking behind me or daylight makes it unnoticeable . also I occasionally have base boost when I should have full boost . I thought these 2 problems might be connected , but have only seen the base boost problem during the day when I can't tell if the brake lights are stuck on . I sprayed some WD40 into one of the ports on the apc solenoid and pressed the brake pedal a few times and have not seen the base boost problem since . so is my brake light switch starting to fail or is it just in need of adjustment ? I got a peek at it under the dash and nothing appears broken or out of place and its plunger seems to move without sticking . it appears to be the type that screws in without the easily broken tabs . does the brake light problem always cause the base boost problem on these cars or can it be something else like the apc solenoid ? I also noticed that the solenoid's wires are coming loose from the plug housing and was careful to make sure there was good contact when I pushed the plug back on . thanks in advance for suggestions .
