passes through a grommet in the firewall that is just below the throttle cable ? I wasn't sure if it was vacuum or wiring . I want to know in order to figure how hard it would be to replace it since mine looks like its damaged and someone tried to fill in the gap with putty which isn't doing the job . the a/c compressor that I've had for about 5 years ( always delivered cold air ) is very whiny to the point that I haven't been able to ignore the noise . I know fire wall grommets can make a difference to how much you hear the compressor , especially this one that is almost directly behind the compressor . I know this whine is the actual compressor piston . I had my mechanic add a couple of ounces of the special oil to the correct port to no avail as my mechanic predicted . This was the specified oil that mixes with the 134 refrigerant . oh sorry , its an 88spg with a used compressor put in 5 years ago and still blowing cold on the same charge as when the compressor was installed . thanks in advance for suggestions .
