Why would I even THINK of buying this 90 convertible? Posted by Ken [Email] |
Perfect black top, but the hydraulics don't work. A 20-footer with a bad repaint and slight bondo waviness in on rear quarter above the wheel. Ticking engine sound and the oil is jet black. Interior is OK, but needs front seat leather and the dash has terminal cracking. (Odd too is the left vent in the dash looks melted and falls out) Clunk sounds indicate ball joints, shocks and tie rod ends should be suspect. Clutch has a low friction point but the car does move nicely with no clutch slippage.
BUT... The is no CV joint noise, brakes are OK, decent boost (but I didn't wind it out for fear of catastrophic failure of something,) and the coolant looked clean with no water contamination.
I see the potential, and aside from that, I'm fooling myself into thinking the salvageable parts alone would be worth a 500 offer... What's wrong with me?
