different years are a little different, but one of mine is a '93 and I had some radio issues early on as well.
I guess first question is, do you have the right code? Have you read the FAQ on this (sounds like you have)?
It's been a while since I've needed to reset a code + it didn't work, so apologies if I'm off on any of this:
I think (for 1993) it is supposed to display code, beep a few times + then stop beeping when it is working properly.
If it displays code, but doesn't beep at all + won't let you enter code, check the thread in the link below. I'm guessing I followed Chaz's advice + pulled/reseated the head unit, as I'm using the same radio now + it works fine. We don't have an EQ or CD, but that is a good thing to check as well.
If it displays code, but will not stop beeping you may have another problem. This happened to me early on + I replaced the radio with a new old stock one from ebay ($30 for a brand new unit!)... I forget all the details, but I had to fix a problem with the cage as well + something with that din connector interlock. It is possible that I didn't actually need to replace that one to make it work, but that is what was easy at the time + worked fine.
Sorry not much help, but maybe that helps you get started.
James...
