Blowing Cooling Fan Fuse #25, reasons? Posted by EverettDave [Email] (#1894) [Profile/Gallery] (more from EverettDave) on Thu, 28 Oct 2010 01:08:37 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Experienced first overheat in '89 SPG last week. Lost coolant but no obvious sources. Troubleshooting per Bentley, I found that the thermoswitch is OK, all hoses tight, but found a blown fuse #25. Replaced that, warmed up fully, fan engaged and ran nicely. Cotinued to idle and watched for fan to repeat, but never happened. Fuse #25 blown.
My question, if the cooling fan blades turn freely by hand, can it still be drawing enough current to blow a 30 amp fuse? I will replace the fan if needed, but am sort of puzzled that there is no drag on the fan operation. Other potential causes for blowing fuse #25??
Thanks a Bunch
