you know, those rubber nipples on the door bottoms and down on the sides next to the back passenger seat. They became plugged with lots of fine dirt that accumulated in those door/body cavities and then stopped water from draining. Water would then collect and spill over into the passenger compartment. A fine wire carefully poked from beneath the car provided temporary relief, I decided during a dry season to do a dedicated wipedown of the door cavity space to remove the dirt. I think this explains one of your leaks.
I never had rain experience with a ripped top. You may need to do some in-person monitoring by sitting in your car with a strong flashlight when it's raining.
I had two convertibles during some rainy California winters and I was convinced they were only suitable as fair-weather cars. Sold and traded them for my 87 turbo beater.
Check your rubber drain nipples/plugs first.
