SO the only issue that I recall when searching after doing the job 2x was that the surface that mates to the heater core is/was not always flat...so leakage even after the replacement.
So just check that the scantech valve is flat with a straightedge, or sand down with a flat sanding bar.
Someone recommended on your previous thread that gluing the O rings in place will help keep them there...good idea.
I think that the valve itself is fine. whether its black or not does not indicate its manufacturer.
