Pics aren't diagnostic, but worriesome Posted by Arabiflora [Email] (#1129) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Arabiflora) on Thu, 25 Nov 2010 16:17:36 In Reply to: Inner Driver/CV issue?, James B., Thu, 25 Nov 2010 11:49:36 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
That's one trashed boot and the crud in the joint doesn't look good, either. Seizure there would cause the car to lurch to the right as you stated in the original post. My diagnosis at a distance is worth what you paid for it but if it were me, and given the symptoms and hazards of driving that you describe, I wouldn't put another mile on it (or at least <5 at low speeds if nec to get to a suitable shop) until the CV joint is assessed and likely replaced. I love my Saab and have alot of confidence that it can muscle through certain circumstances caused by various states of minor disrepair, but lurching in unpredictable directions at highway speed is not among them. I hope that some Saabers in the SF area here might offer a hand, sorry that your holiday weekend has been disrupted.
