The 9000 may not have a bleeder (I don't recall) BUT your 1993 C900 should have a bleeder for the cooling system on top of the thermostat housing. You will see bubbling in the coolant reservoir if the reservoir cap is defective and failing to maintain pressure in the system. The other symptoms you have do suggest a head gasket problem but you may want to throw a known good (or new) reservoir cap on there and bleed the system before you start pulling the head just to see what happens.
