ATE is an OEM supplier of brake systems in Europe, a division of Continental Tire. Presuming your car is MY89 or newer, the original brakes were ATE, and the Centrics are remanned ATE's.
MY89 and later C900's used the same rear calipers as the 9000's. The 9000 upgrade actually refers only to the front brakes.
New Ate parts are still available, though not from the dealer. Look for my post last year under 9000 brake upgrade. Good luck!
