Had it happen to both of my '88 SPGs. One backing up and the other (completely rust free AZ car with 124K on it) while moving straight ahead at 65 mph. Scary. It should be noted that I was able to "control" the vehicle. Skidding onto the shoulder. Lucky it was not the interstate and there was very little traffic.
