I was reading the Automobile section of the NY Times this morning, and my lady commented "I could never read an entire article about a car." (she's just not into cars other than getting from point A to B)
My response was, "Well, I certainly can. Cars are my one vice, I'm not perfect." She said, "You're close to perfect. As long as you don't want tons of cars." I said, "Well, maybe 2 or 3 Saabs plus a newer everyday ride for you." To my shock, she said, "Yeah, maybe."
Perhaps it was the drugs (she just had a big surgical procedure on her shoulder) but I never thought I would hear her says that. I AM STOKED, PSYCHED, ECSTATIC!
Also, we talked about Virva (my '92 Turbo) and she was happy that we got the heat, washer and axle fixed last week to go along with my new rear rotors and pads the week before. She asked how it was running, and I said it felt sweet (which she does!)
Then she commented that it was indeed nice to have the Saab these past few day and months (we live in NYC and don't have to always rely on mass transit) and it was nice this past summer when we used Virva for road trips to the beachhouse, the Adirondacks, Long Island not to mention when we used it in LA for trips up the coast.
I really feel my girl has turned a corner with my Saab. She wouldn't understand, but I feel like this is a big deal for me personally. I love driving this car, and looks forward to the drives, and I certainly would like another one or two.
Methinks a 9000 Aero and either an SPG or Turbo convertible would round out my collection nicely. Any thoughts on which models and years would make the complete trifecta?
I'm just giddy and had to share. There may be a future for all of us (my lady and my Saab(s)) after all!
