I have an 87 which turned over but wouldn't start. My brother wiggled the wire going from the coil to the center of the dist cap, while I cranked it, and it started up. Now it seems to start every time but I would like to resolve the issue. Does it stand to reason that if I wiggle the wire while running and it continues to run that the problem lies within the coil or distributer and not the wire? The distributer was tested in the summer and was known to work then. My brother suggestes a test that seems beyond my ability and the local shop suggests it must be the wire. Any thoughts?
