Like Larry said, know issue and lots of information on it. The issues a design flaw in that the ground for both tail light clusters go through the left side light mount. it heats up and melts things and then you have a reverse voltage ground situation.
There are two fixes, the one that adds a ground to the board, or the other more elegant one is to jump around the ground on the left side board to the right side. and cut that wire so that the ground is basically "Y"ed before the board, one continues to the left side, the other jumps past it to the right side and the original from the left side to the right side ground is clipped. some times it's too late as the melt has gone too far and you need to replace the board, not really too difficult. and if you are very tricky you can actually convert a right side board to a left side... but it does require a bit of patience. the right side ones don't have the burn/melt issues as they were not subjected to the current load of both sides.
