we had an atf flush done on one of our cars at our indy a couple years back, but other stuff was on the bill as well (coolant flush, possibly oil change? not sure?)... bill was in around $300 iirc... they are good + fair prices...
atf drain + refill is very easy to do in the driveway. though that 1 qt at a time technique is probably the best way, the dilution method seemed to work ok for me and it's ridiculously easy, even in the cold, don't even need to jack the car: just drain it out, refill the amount you drain, drive car, repeat 3x (checking the level when warm each time to confirm it's in range)... need a dozen quarts of Ford type F... we have a car where the 2-3 shift point had gone up (significantly) and it seems to have stabilized since the triple drain/refill... I only wish I had caught that sooner! If everyone had done this regularly on these cars, I think the failure rates of these transmissions would be much lower (that car may have never had a proper flush in 20 years before we got it!)...
if all else fails, transplant a stick...
good luck!
James...
