Let's see - the "black plastic piece" is the connector for the three Hall-Sensor wires. This a common broken part, unfortunately! Without good connections there, cars won't run at all. There seems to be no (zero) way to get a replacement connector. Unless it is absolutely destroyed, I've had good success with repairing/reshaping the plug at the distributor with a nice batch of JB-Weld, inside the distributor and outside. Clean up good first with Brake-Clean type product. Sounds like you might want to get that distributor out of there, and examine it to find out what's going on. Generally speaking, distributors don't "vibrate". If the rotor is hitting the cap, there is a serious problem, but the rotor might hit the cap if the cap isn't 100% rotated correctly and clamped with the two spring clamps If you have to you remove it, scribe the location so it can be replaced in the same timing location. Now, which exact "one of the wires connected to the distributor broke"? A sparkplug wire, the coil wire, or one of the Hall Sensor wires? More info, please. Vern
