Hey Gang, Got started on starter remove and replace for '89 SPG today. Followed all the good info found searching saabnet, and made good progress until reaching the outboard 17mm starter bolt/nut. Block bracket is free, inboard 17mm starter nut is loose, all connections off, intake air tube removed, may do the dipstick or at least remove its bracket. I can easily see both 17mm nuts, I can easily pry back the plastic flywheel cover, I can get an end wrench on the fwd bolt heads (odd they seem to be 9/16ths), BUT, cannot get any socket or combo wrench on the 17mm outboard starter nut. The cast flange on starter housing is too close to nut to get anything on it. Solutions?
Also, once I get socket on that outboard nut, do I use a long extension beneath intake manifold, or a short extension and place ratchet between intake runners? Doesn't look like enough room there.
Thanks a Bunch
