as mentioned earlier (I'm not sure if you read my posts above) ABS ECU doesn't have any RAM nor it's continuously supplied with DC power so you need first to get that light on (this means there's DTC in the ABS ECU) and only then start pulling it out. It's completely shut down (and thus all DTSs are clear out) every time you turn the ignition off.
As for 'whether it's worth or not' - this baby is trying to tell you smth. I think you better listen to it. If it's complaining on that sensor then you've got it nailed. Otherwise it's worth also checking the component that ABS ECU is complaining about.
