ABS woes on a '90 900, Rear brakes won't bleed. Posted by Nicholas [Email] (#2995) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Nicholas) on Wed, 29 Jun 2011 09:57:46 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Looing for help! Here is the story:
Just replaced a broken line in the cabin heading to the rear brakes. Previously I had a working Brake Fluid light, when the leaky line would push fluid into the cabin and the level would drop, the light would come on, topped it up, it would go out. I have had an ABS light all the time for a broken ABS sensor left front.
Now with the new line in place I cannot get the rear brakes to bleed.
The brake pedal is rock hard and the brake effort is high.
The brake fluid light is illuminated full time (along with ABS)
I am using a pressure bleeder, the fronts bleed without trouble. The rears will not bleed, not a drop. I am using a helper to depress the pedal slightly with the key in the on position for the rears as instructed
With key on, The ABS pump hums and I can feel vibration from it, it worked previously to this well.
I have cracked open all the lines at both the master cylinder and the abs pump on the drivers fender. I did get some air out initially but with no improvement. No more air seems to be coming out.
Can anyone offer any advice on this system. It has me pretty baffled but I admittedly don't know these early ABS cars well amd good information is hard to find. I appreciate it!
