Problem,
if it's indeed legal for you to eliminate TWC from TWC-equipped car then you should refer to EPC (saab electronic parts catalogue) for a proper reference design. Re the advice you're given:
- burnt valves: false. You can cut the exhaust straight off the exh manifold and you the valves will not burn up, although the engine performance will most probably be decreased.
- muffler: without an interim silencer or a cat you're shorting your muffler lifetime. This isn't a problem for free-flow muffler, but I bet that the SPL (sound pressure level) you get from a FF muffler and removed TWC is absolutely illegal for a street use whatever state you're in.
