If you don't see any fluid leaking like the slave cylinder is gone, then I'd bet the culprit is a failing clutch master cylinder. Follow the line from the slave cylinder, back up to the firewall and right under your brake fluid reservoir, you'll see a cylinder-shaped jobber extending out into the engine bay with the clutch line threaded into it. That's the clutch master; other end of it hooks to the clutch pedal.
They go south, and may not (usually don't) leak fluid. eeuroparts sells a rebuild kit for them for cheap. That being said, I rebuilt mine twice, with ZERO success, and finally had to opt for a good used part. If you have $100 to blow, just get a new one and forget about rebuilding yours.
Another thing to examine is the rubber portion of the clutch line down near the slave. They are known to "balloon" out when you hit the clutch, instead of passing fluid through, due to sitting down in a hot oily area; the rubber will break down and they'll expand. Have a buddy hit the clutch while you look at it.
If it doesn't balloon up, toss a clutch master cylinder at it first.
