question about bushings and suspension

So I had popping in the rear for a while and my mechanic (I helped) tightened the panhard rod bolts while the car was on the lift and all pops went away, for three days. Then came back again. So I figured I need new bushings and probably screws and bolts as well. I purchased new bolts, bushings and a used panhard rod from dismantler to minimize car downtime (daily driver) with plans to install new bushes and replace the panhard rod entirely. Now my question, the used rod appears to have really good bushings (boge saab oem) while the ones I bought looks slightly different (skinnier at the ends). Should I just leave the oem bushings in and install or is it better to install the new aftermarket bushings first. I want to do what is best and will not worry of a couple of bucks.
Thanks,
Per
