I'd do the seal just fro preventative maintenance sake. Inevitably that seal will fail just because you didn't do it while the clutch was out--the continuum.

The drain tool works well, but I also make a cylinder out of some thin aluminum flashing with the joint taped with some celophane packing tape to put on the end of the crank. Have it protrude at least an inch outward. The seal is tough to get started over the end of the crank without it and can get caught and then the seal edge flips outward. Slick it up with some motor oil and just slide the seal over it. You can just slide the cylinder out once the seal is securely in place.
