Random loss of electric power (long)... Posted by BAAB [Email] (#1214) [Profile/Gallery] (more from BAAB) on Thu, 13 Oct 2011 12:10:56 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
My '93 900 turbo CE is losing electric power very randomly, but frequently enough that at times the car is barely drivable. All electric power goes completely out including the engine dying, but then it comes right back on, and the car starts right back up with no problem (for a few seconds anyway). Or if I am rolling at enough speed, I can just put the transmission in the appropriate gear and clutch start it. All connections look fine. It starts right up with no issue. The only thing on the car that is rigged for now (until I can get to it again) is this:
The connector that connects to the side of the distributor (right below the plastic cap) broke and to get back home I reconnected the wires but with the only wires I had which were with larger gauge wires and so it is not yet repaired with the correct wires/connector. As a result, the mechanism under the distributor is probably not moving as freely as it should. Are these wires related to my issue? I appreciate any help/ideas that can help me fix this problem. Thanks in advance & sorry this is so wordy.
